The Arrangement
Pre arranged in ancient times
Your life and mine are intertwined
Cast upon some trusted stone
A Solemn vow was purged in love
Forever written and decreed
And by some Holy Law agreed
That these two souls forever blessed
Would find the other and be bound
Memories pressed like summer roses
Through the pages of eternal time
Never lost for you will find me
Would lead your heart straight to mine
And through the twinkling of stars
The reflection of a shimmering lake
A knowing hand guides us with love
And points to where the other is
And we have heard the free birds sing
Exchanging feathers along the way
Then marveled at the butterfly
And shed our tears when beauty dies
We have seen fields alive with wild flowers
And moons so sad would break a heart
This we have done with ancient powers
That lights our path where others flounder
For we know of what we believe
Never to part, because we love
