Deb and I first met at my Out of Darkness website and became friends when learning we shared a past filled with the horror of rape and domestic abuse/violence. This was a common bond that drew us close, but over time we learned we had many other things in common. We are both poets and writers. We have both moved on from the past and become stronger for it. I doubt that I could ever express my appreciation for this lovely lady's support and friendship. Being that she lives in Australia and I in the United States, we have yet to meet in person, but this in no way diminishes my love for her. We are that rare and beautiful thing...Forever Friends. After losing her beloved Mum to Ovarian Cancer, Deb became a crusader for raising awareness of this devastating and deadly disease, writing her first book as a way through the pain and grief and in turn helping many others through their own pain. I have never met such a tireless and passionate worker for any cause. Helping others is not just what she does, it's a large part of who she is. Besides being a passionate crusader, she's a warm, loving, vibrant romantic. Her poetry and short stories cover a wide range of subjects from the very darkest emotional pain to the whimsically romantic. Her books not only help others through their reading, she also donates a percentage of the profits to Ovarian Cancer Awareness groups.
