Christmas Edition
Up Dates
It's getting close to Christmas and I know how busy everyone is. This is the time of year when I always feel like Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. One minute I'm singing Christmas Carols and gaily wrapping gifts, the next I'm biting my tongue to keep from saying things no lady should ever utter because I realize that there's no way I'm going to have time to get everything done. And this year my husband and I decided we'd buy a house. It's a lovely little brick cottage that needs tons of work done on the inside. Being too optimistic to realize that this takes a long time, we've ended up about to close on a house with just a couple of weeks left until Christmas. This could possibly be the stupidest thing I've ever done. So, if we do close next week, we'll be spending the time before Christmas painting and redoing hardwood floors. But if all goes according to schedule, we will have our first Christmas in our new little home. Keep your fingers crossed for us. I'll let you know next time if we manage to get through this without something really horrible happening. (Use Your Imagination)

M. Jean Pike:
A refreshing new voice in fiction, Ms. Pike's first novel The Winds of Autumn is a paranormal romance that will captivate you from the first page. A sleepy little town, a lost love, a new love, a ghost, and a villain that will give you chills are just a few elements in this wonderful book. Her characters are so alive you'll find yourself thinking of them long after reading their story. A gifted writer from upper state New York, she's been writing professionally since 1999. The Winds of Autumn can be purchased at Barnes and Noble locally or online and other major book sellers. Her newest book, Waiting for the Rain will be published by Champagne books and should be released sometime in 2007. Poem:
Country Christmas
Christmas tree lights sparkling
The smell of cookies baking
jingling of the bells
A child's joyful yells
The singing of carols
and good cheer by the barrel
Christmas is a time to express goodwill to men
A time to share love with family and friends
Peace and joy for fellow man
Offering love with an open hand
So to all my friends so dear
I send to you love and good cheer
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year
