The Grand Tetons and Mammoth Cave

Rising majestic against a backdrop of blue_
Ten climbers rush to climb the snowy mounds,
Their grip slippery with the morning dew_
Silence broken by their moaning sounds.

Ascending from both east and west,
Grabbing and trying to find a hold.
Never thinking of taking a rest,
Moving faster and becoming quite bold.

Determined to reach the rosy summits_
Squeezing and pinching and trying to hold.
Loosing their grip, five of them plummet
And go falling into the valley below.

Finding themselves at the mouth of a cave_
A mammoth cave, so damp and so dark.
Deciding to enter, the day to save.
They enter the crevice and it snaps like a shark.

The five left on the mounds above
Have finally reached the peak.
Squeezing, tugging and beginning to shove_
Finding the pleasure they were there to seek.
