Sacrifice

Sacrifice
Land of dream and mist,
Virgin’s harsh and fragile kiss.
Forged of copper and of stone,
Caring not for blood or bone.
Lulled through mirrors of a past,
Seductive gifts, before you cast.
Suckle at the laden breast,
Restless spirit long repressed.
Shafts to pierce deep within,
Anticipation of desired sin.
Thrust upon the desert bare,
Humbled at the Devil’s lair.
Echoes of a promise made,
Blood and sacrifice, before you lay.
Dark regent, as of death,
Take your last and lonely breath.
