Tide of Hope

Scarce and barren beaches
A world washing away
Frothy suds of anger reach their peak
Each wave that rolls in carries more hope,
but then swiftly slides back...
further out to sea,
Where my heart sinks to the depths of the ocean floor-
Shall it be rescued?
Or will it be doomed to years of corrosion
Lost amidst the slimy weeds
Passing marine life may take a nibble
Perhaps the scuba diver will see its worth
Declaring his dive a success
His treasure worth saving
He sees great value
He breathes new life
Hope resurfaces on dry shores
